The Philadelphia Eagles must trim the roster down to 53 players by Monday. The next two to be cut are Joselio Hanson and Mardy Gilyard according to Adam Caplan. With Hanson out of the picture, the Eagles will put rookie Brandon Boykin in at Nickel. Second year man Curtis Marsh will backup the starting outside corners. The Eagles have shown that they believe in the young corners by letting the reliable Joselio Hanson go.
Mardy Gilyard was also released. The Eagles were already deep at receiver with DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin, Jason Avant, Riley Cooper, and rookie Damaris Johnson. Gilyard had a stellar preseason, but just could not find room on the Eagles depth chart. Gilyard did put together some good film from the preseason and will look to find room somewhere else.
More cuts to come as Monday approaches.
