The 2012 NFL Season will kickoff tonight with Cowboys vs Giants.  The Eagles will kickoff in four days against the Cleveland Browns in Cleveland.  As the season approaches teams are concerned with the health of their players after a tough training camp schedule.

The Eagles were able to escape the preseason without any devastating injuries.  Riley Cooper did break his collarbone, there were quite a few minor hamstring injuries, and Michael Vick bruised his ribs and thumb.  Coach Andy Reid addressed the media earlier today regarding game preparations.  Reid stated that Riley Cooper and Colt Anderson would be the only two players that would not play due to injury week one.  Cooper is still recovering from his broken collarbone and should be back around week three.  Colt Anderson had offseason knee surgery and is still recovering.  Anderson did return to practice this week, suggesting he may be returning sooner rather than later.  Defensive end Jason Babin will play after missing all of the preseason with a calf injury.

Coach Reid is not worried about Vick getting off to a bad start after his limited preseason.  What else can Reid say about this?  He has to throw his support behind Vick, but he must have some concerns about rhythm after Vick played less than fifteen snaps in preseason.  The offense did not look good with Vick out there, but it was just preseason.  Vick will be the biggest storyline heading into the game.  His play will really shape how the season goes and Philly fans/media will not give him much slack if he gets off to a slow start.

Reid also stated that for week one only four wide receiver will be active.  Reid was not concerned with the limited receivers.  The Eagles are comfortable using both of their tight ends, Brent Celek and Clay Harbor.
