Monday afternoon at his weekly press conference, Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid announced that rookie quarterback Nick Foles would start in Michael Vick's position for the rest of the season, even if Vick is deemed healthy enough to play. Currently, Vick has not passed the tests necessary to come back from a concussion, but it appears that will be a moot point.
The Eagles can essentially opt out of their contract with Vick, and considering he is owed more than $15 million next season it appears that is likely at this point. Many people have already lost their job with the Eagles this year, both on the players side and the personnel side. There will be more to come, with Reid and Vick likely to be out the door as well, but for the time being it is time to see if Foles will be the future quarterback of this team.
