The interview will take place sometime on Thursday.

Smith led the Bears to the Super Bowl during the 2006 season, where they lost to Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts. During his nine seasons in Chicago, Smith was 81-63 with three division championships.

Smith is clearly a defensive minded coach, and with the way the Eagles defense has played the past few years that may not be a bad thing. All of the top teams in the league have great offenses, but a great defense is what sets teams apart from one another. However, with a young Nick Foles likely taking the starting quarterback spot next season it is going to be important to have a solid offensive coordinator if the team does with a defensive-minded head coach.
